Privacy policy

Last updated: 16 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information I collect when you use this website or book wedding crazy golf with me, what I do with it and what your rights are. I’ve tried to keep it short and in plain English.

Who I am

Crazy Weds Golf Hire is run by me, Scott Anderson, as a sole trader. I’m responsible for the personal information described here (in data protection terms, I’m the “controller”).

Address: 1 Stewart Way, Annesley, Nottingham, NG15 0EL
Email: crazywedsgolfhire@gmail.com
Phone and WhatsApp: 07889 815230

What I collect

When you send an enquiry

The enquiry form asks for your name, email address, phone number, wedding date and venue, and lets you tell me how you heard about me, which package you’re interested in and anything else about your day. I only use this to reply to you, check whether I’m free on your date and work out a price.

When you check a date

The date checker on the contact page sends the date you pick to a small Google service that looks it up in my booking calendar. It only sends the date, not your name or contact details.

When you book

If you book, I keep your enquiry details along with what we’ve agreed: the package, timings, venue contacts, any notes about the day, and a record of your deposit and final payment. I keep this in my email and in my Google Calendar so I can plan your wedding and get to the right place at the right time.

When you message me

If you contact me by WhatsApp, text, phone, email, Instagram or TikTok, I’ll have your messages and contact details in that app.

When you visit the website

Like most websites, this one collects some technical information automatically. See “Cookies and analytics” below.

Why I use it, and my legal basis

  • To reply to your enquiry and to plan and carry out your booking. This is needed to take steps you’ve asked for before entering into a contract, and then to perform the contract.
  • To keep financial records of deposits and payments. This is a legal obligation, as I have to keep records for HMRC.
  • To ask for a Google review a couple of days after your wedding, usually by WhatsApp or text. This is in my legitimate interests as a small business. It’s a single message, and you’re free to ignore it.
  • To understand how people use the website through Google Analytics, and to keep the site secure. See below.

I don’t sell your information, and I don’t send marketing emails or newsletters.

Photos from your wedding

I often take photos of the course at weddings, sometimes with you or your guests playing, and share them on this website and on social media. If you’d rather a photo of you or your guests wasn’t used, tell me and I’ll take it down.

Who I share it with

I only share your information when I need to:

  • Your venue, to agree where the course goes, access and timings.
  • The people who run the Classic course, if that’s the course you book. They need your details to arrange your day.
  • The services I use to run the business: Google (Gmail, Google Calendar and the date checker), WhatsApp, my bank, and the company that hosts this website. They handle your information on my behalf.
  • HMRC or my accountant, for tax purposes, if needed.

Some of these services, such as Google and WhatsApp, may store data outside the UK. Where they do, they use legal safeguards approved under UK data protection law.

Cookies and analytics

This website uses Google Analytics to count visitors and see which pages are useful. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information such as the pages you visit, roughly where you are and the type of device you use. It doesn’t tell me who you are. You can opt out with Google’s browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings.

The Reviews page shows Google reviews through a service called Elfsight, which may also set its own cookies. The website also uses a security service (Wordfence) that records visitors’ IP addresses to block attacks, and a small number of cookies that WordPress needs to work.

How long I keep it

  • Enquiries that don’t become bookings: up to 12 months, in case you come back to me, then deleted.
  • Bookings: until your wedding is done and paid for, then the financial records for six years, as HMRC requires.
  • Messages stay in the app they were sent in until I clear them out.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information I hold about you, and to ask me to correct it, delete it, or stop using it. You can also object to me using it for review requests. Just email or message me. There’s no charge, and I’ll reply within a month.

If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your information, please talk to me first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

If I change how I use personal information, I’ll update this page and the date at the top.
